Horns and Bells

Here's a hypothetical scenario. You're cruising along in the bike lane on your brand new electric bike. You approach Times Square, where you notice a large group of children with their backs to you. You've been singing along to Rod Stewart at the top of your lungs last night, so you lost your voice (hey, it's not MY hypothetical), and you have no way to alert anyone of your approach.

Right as you think you're in the clear, all of the children run out in front of you. There's a huge collision and everyone is now mad at you for injuring children. Not only that, but they're on the board of directors for New York City streets and they move to place a ban on electric bikes. How could this have all been prevented?

Get a bell. Get a whistle. Get an air horn. Carry a trumpet if you have to. Just make sure people know you're coming. And don't hurt the children.

Air Zound Horn

The choice of NYC messengers, guaranteed to be heard no matter where you're riding. Just pump up the bottle with a regular bike pump and unleash the air horn. Be careful - it's loud!

Reich Safety Bell

The Reich safety bell is our de facto bicycle accessory. It fits on any folding bike, electric bike, or kick scooter using a Phillips screwdriver. Let others know you're coming with a ring!

Large Ding-Dong Bell

This bell looks great on retro cruisers and Dutch bikes. You'll recognize that familiar "Ding-Dong!" as the old-style doorbell sound. Pretty loud, pretty hilarious.
