The first step is to determine if the battery is actually fully charged and has its full capacity. Charge your BionX battery fully, let it rest for at least 30 minutes then attach to your bike and turn on the system.
To program, simultaneously press on the "chrono" and "mode" buttons until the display changes to 4 zeros. To change a digit on the screen, use the "A/+" button to increase the number, and the "G/-" button to decrease. To accept a digit, press the "mode" button; this will send you to the next number to the right.
Enter code 3772 (Diagnostics mode). The lower left corner of the display will show the battery voltage, e.g., 00041.9
If your system is fully charged, the voltage should be at least:
P250, 24V-Nickel Metal Hydride = 27 volts
PL250, 24V-Lithium = 28.5 volts
P350, 36V-Nickel Metal Hydride = 40.5 volts
PL350, 36V-Lithium = 41 volts
If the correct voltage is verified, hold down the MODE button for 20 seconds to recalibrate the battery gauge. Wait for 3 or for flashes and a loud beep; then release the MODE button.
We recommend doing this every few months to keep things accurate.
For 2009 and later systems, the battery gauge may not be reset by a battery recalibration. If this is the case, drain your battery all the way down to zero, wait for about 10-15 minutes, and then charge it back up until the charger shows green. Try the console recalibration once more and see if this fixes the problem.
