From the first pedal stroke I could feel the power of the BionX system smoothly augmenting my own pedal force. BionX has one of the most advanced pedal assistance systems on the market, but it also has a trigger style throttle. That means once you get going about 3 miles per hour the motor can take over entirely and you don't have to pedal at all. That said, the real fun of the BionX was how I was doing some of the work. It felt like I was actually riding a bike!
Who knew you could get something for nothing? Yet that's exactly what the BionX system offers, thanks to regenerative braking. There are a few electric bikes that also use regenerative braking, but these systems activate only when the bike is going down hill. I was amazed that the Bionx was recharging the battery every time I used the rear brake.

It's incredible that the BionX motor kit can pack all the information you need to know into one 2 square-inch screen. The clear layout keeps operation of the bike simple, with only 4 buttons. There is a built in cyclo-computer which tracks distance traveled, average speed, current speed, and a clock. Having all the information in one spot means you can focus on the road, not the bike.

I was really impressed with the power of our BionX bicycle. It is the fastest and most advanced electric bike I have ridden yet.
