If you've passed an adult riding a bike with 20" wheels, there's a good chance you saw a Dahon folding bicycle. Since 1983, Dahon folding bicycles have been the most popular folding bicycles in the world. Why? Well they make about 30 different models, and they can cater to almost any type of rider. They're also lightweight and compact, and there are different ways to carry and store the bikes easily. Dahon is also dedicated to good quality and a sustainable future, so their factories are environmentally conscious and they promote a healthy lifestyle. We stock all the Dahon folding bicycle models in our store, but there are a few in particular that we like a bit more than the rest.
The Mu line of Dahon folding bicycles are tough commuter bikes. With a curved frame, this design can withstand most of the rough riding of city roads. The Dahon Mu P8 folding bicycle is the most popular bike in this line, sporting a beautiful white finish over its rugged aluminum. A wide range of 8 gears will span any hill on your commute, and you can adjust your seat post and handlebars to accommodate an upright, comfortable ride, or a low, sporty ride. At 24.7 lbs, the Dahon MuP8 is one of the lightest Dahon folding bicycles, so you can easily carry it up to an apartment or throw it over your shoulder using one of their carrying bags.
Matte black is an awesome color for a bike, and a stark contrast to the cloudy white Mu P8. The Dahon Vitesse folding bike is built for commuting. It comes complete with front and rear mudguards, a rear rack, and a full chain guard to protect your clothes from chain grease. An internal 7-speed hub means you don't have to worry about knocking your derailleur out of alignment, and you still have enough gears to climb most hills. The Vitesse is an award-winning folding bike, and one of the most popular bikes in their entire stock.
"What's the lightest folding bike you have?" Easy answer. The Dahon Mu SL folding bicycle clocks in at 18.3 lbs. It's a racing machine. There are 16 spokes on the lightweight Kinetix rims, and the Kojak slick tires means you're going to leave that trail of fire in your wake, kind of like Mel Gibson in the Road Warrior. There are 9 speeds on a rapid fire shifter, so you can shift gears like a hot knife through butter. Everything about this bike is amazing, and you won't find anything lighter. If you have a need for speed, look no further.
Simplicity sometimes makes life much easier. Don't care to deal with gears? Do brake cables annoy you? Do you just wish they made something with two wheels and a chain? Here it is, the Dahon Mu Uno folding bicycle. This baby is stripped down to the bare essentials. The rear brake is a coaster, so like the bike you had as a kid, just pedal backward to stop. We can add a front hand brake if you really want it, of course. One speed is all you need for a flat commute, so don't worry about chains falling off or shifting gears. Keep it simple and just pedal. Since there is such little going on with the Mu Uno, it weighs only 22 lbs. How's that for a deal?
We stock many more Dahon folding bicycles in our shop, but these are our favorites. There are also carrying bags and covers that will fit all of these bikes. You can test drive any of the bikes above, but if you are interested in our entire stock, check out all of our Dahon folding bicycles.
