Giant Twist Freedom DX electric bike

Giant Bicycles have returned to the electric bike arena with the new Giant Twist Freedom electric bike. Sleekly and expertly designed, the Twist features a 250 watt DC motor, powered by two 26 volt Lithium Ion batteries.

What is "Hybrid Technology?"

The Giant Twist is one of the more comfortable electric bikes that we've ridden. With fork and seat post suspension, a plush seat, soft and ergonomic handlebar grips, and a relatively upright riding position, riding on this electric bike feels almost like sitting on your favorite couch. Relaxed, comfortable and easy riding is championed here.

The interface is also incredibly simple. A switch lets you alternate between your left and right battery. By pressing another button you can change your riding mode from normal to 'economy' or 'sport.' The economy mode allows you to save more power while sacrificing a negligible amount of assistance, and the sport mode gives you that extra kick for the steeper hills if you're looking to keep things absolutely effortless.

If you are riding in the appropriate gear (the Twist offers a good range of 7 speeds), then at almost no point will you feel yourself expending effort unnecessarily. The assist technology senses how much input the rider is giving and generates assistance based on rider performance. There's no throttle to twist or consider. You simply pedal lightly and the bike does the rest.
