Brompton folding bikes are really becoming a household name here in New York. We recently got a call from director Roger Michell (Notting Hill) requesting the use of one of our Brompton folding bikes in his new film Morning Glory.
Michell, a proud Brompton owner himself, wanted to use the folding bicycle in his Manhattan-based script about a female producer who moves to New York to revive a failing morning show. Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Wedding Crashers) plays Becky Fuller, the aspiring news producer who has just moved to New York City. She will be riding our red Brompton M6R, and the folded package will be displayed in her apartment in a few scenes.
Below you can see Rachel riding a NYCeWheels Brompton in Central Park after a shoot. (with a cell phone in her hand...)
The star-studded cast also includes Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Jeff Goldblum, and Patrick Wilson. The movie is slated to release in theatres in July 2010. Keep an eye out for Brompton bicycles in the news and film in the future - it looks like they may be gaining some popularity!
