I am 61 years old and have been using kick scooters for 11 years. I like having a wider platform on my scooters and have placed a 10 1/2 inch wide deck on them. I make these out of 3/4 inch plywood. I have purchased three scooters from NYCE Wheels. They are the Blauwerk Micro kick scooter, the Xootr kick scooter, and the Goped scooter. I use the Micro for exercise. I make a 3 1/2 to 4 mile run with it. I use the Xootr when I travel. I have used it in big box stores, shopping malls, air port terminals, and Union Station in Washington DC. My doctor likes the kick scooters because it keeps me active. I use my leg muscles. I have also used the Xootr and Goped to move my daughter in and out of college dorm rooms. I could just pile her stuff on the scooter and walk it to my truck. I would scooter back to the dorm room for another load. I use them around the home to move heavy objects around the house.
All three kick scooters have their advantages and disadvantages. Numerous times people have asked me about all three of my scooters. I always tell them about which one I am using at the time and mention NYCeWheels. My first scooter was a Huffy. It kept breaking down because I was just too heavy for it. I bought a Schwinn scooter, without the electric motor and controls, but did not like it. I found NYCeWheels on-line and talked over the phone about each scooter. Whoever I talked to was very helpful and informative.
Thank you, John H.
